We are looking for a Senior Director of DevOps to join our dynamic and growing DevOps Org!

 

About the Role: 

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and mentor the 10+ DevOps team to accomplish established goals.
  • Provide strategic influence and exercise control of the direction of DevOps and Tango’s cloud infrastructure in alignment aligned with Tango’s value creation plan and defined OKRs.
  • Drive adoption of best practices in CI/CD, infrastructure as code (IaC), and cloud security in coordination with Tango’s InfoSec team.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of modern and up to date concepts and procedures within the DevOps space to bridge the gap between existing procedures and transition the team into establishing best practices.
  • Develop vision for team around roles and responsibilities, and structure team to ensure greatest impact, efficient use of resource, and alignment to business structures
  • Contribute to defining and implementing best practices and processes for the department and ensure transparency and consistency across teams

 

Cloud Infrastructure Management

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud environments on AWS and Azure. AWS being the primary environment.
  • Optimize cloud costs and ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Influence and negotiate with technology leaders across various application development functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary.
  • Lead AWS security architecture meeting or exceeding compliance requirements and controls.
  • Manage and administer Oracle WebLogic Server environments, including installation, configuration, patching, clustering, and performance tuning to support scalable and secure enterprise applications.
  • Design and maintain secure, resilient middleware infrastructure (e.g., Oracle WebLogic, J2EE, SprintBoot, Play) public cloud environments (e.g. AWS, Azure).

 

DevOps & Automation

  • Champion DevOps culture and practices across the engineering organization.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting systems.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployments using tools like ECS/EKS, Terraform, CloudFormation and or similar.
  • Ensure change is managed with appropriate controls, documentation, and approvals including implementation of new and revised regulatory reporting requirements

 

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate with software engineering, security, and product teams to support development and deployment needs.
  • Communicate infrastructure plans, risks, and progress to executive leadership.
  • Prepare and present regular team/project reviews to senior management and business leaders
  • Monitor and manage approach/end results, budgeting, planning, policy formation, and contribute to future strategy of the area(s)
  • Research and resolve issues, provide recommendations, and escalate to senior management as needed

 

About You: 

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in the DevOps field
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience with establishing modern DevOps practices, including with applications running on traditional N-tier architectures and also private/public cloud implementations.
  • Experience with configuring and enforcing CI/CD pipelines with mandatory automated testing and deployments
  • Experience in implementing robust SRE practices with teams supporting the infrastructure of run time environments, including incident management, automated monitoring/alerting, risk and failure analysis, and capacity planning.
  • Working knowledge of the industry and competitors’ products and services
  • Demonstrated leadership, management, and development skills
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related field preferred

Base pay offered is contingent on qualifications and other operational considerations. Base pay is just one piece of the full compensation structure offered at Tango. If this pay range is outside of your expectations, we still encourage you to apply and have a conversation with us.

Base pay offered for this position is: $190,000 - $240,000
